I make these all the time and they are definitely a family favorite. They’re easy peasy too!
- 1 can of tuna (I suggest against using solid white because they come out a bit dry, I use chunk white or chunk light)
- 2 teaspoons light mayo
- 2 teaspoons liquid egg whites
- 1/2 lemon – grated zest and a little squeeze of the juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon breadcrumbs (I use panko)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Drain the tuna very well from its can, in to a bowl, break up the tuna with a fork and add all the other ingredients and mix well. Divide in half and form into two equal sized burgers. Grill or fry in pan coated with nonstick cooking spray.
I serve mine with hummus, salad and some sweet potato chips.
