I have a good friend who is naturally slim, she always has been. She loves to eat good food and enjoys the occasional treat, baked goods, ice cream, chips, etc. but she is really good at saying no to temptation when she is offered something. We were at a mutual friend’s house for a party recently and someone brought huge soft baked chocolate chip cookies. I wasn’t planning to eat one, but I love cookies so I did. She loves cookies too and she didn’t. We started to talk about food, dieting and fitness and I asked her how she was so good at saying no to temptation. She thought about it for a second and said, “I just remind myself that there will always be other cookies.” “I don’t have to eat every single one I see.” I just loved that one thought. So simple, so brilliant.
